Overview
Alveare (originally Orenda) Winery opened in June, 2019. The Winery specializes in high elevation fruit aged for two years in small French oak barrels. Alveare focuses on quality vs quantity, specializing in complex, subtle and dynamic flavors reminiscent of an old-world style rarely found in Washington wines. Its wines are a blend of tradition, nuance, and personal storytelling. They are designed to pair seamlessly with food, inspired by experiences in fine dining. It has a wine club, tasting room, great wines, and in addition bee hives. Alveare is also a beautiful venue for hosting events such as weddings.
The Wines
Alveare partners with some of the highest elevation vineyards in Washington State for their grapes. This provides a cool climate with late ripening fruit. Since the grapes have more time to mature, the wine is more subtle than that made with grapes from warmer areas. Old world style flavors result when the wine is aged in French oak barrels.
Alveare wines are a blend of tradition, nuance and personal storytelling. The aim is to create wines which are not only delicious by also meaningful. The 2019 Sangiovese, 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2022 Bee and Barrell took home gold at the Washington State Wine Awards.
Check the Alveare Winery website for the latest information on their wines and events.
