Overview

Bybee Farms is a charming outdoor day of fun just waiting to be picked! This vast 42 acre property is filled with blueberries that anyone of any age will enjoy picking and eating. Because the location is so close to the beautiful Mount Si, sights of mountain goats are not uncommon as visitors munch through 6 different types of blueberries.  Bybee Farms has been owned by the same family since 1946.  

Berries

As pickers come and go, the berries remain the same; delicious. Bybee Farms offers 6 types of Blueberries to experiment. Bybee farms proudly uses organic and/or sustainable farming methods are can answer any question or concerns if needed. No herbicides or pesticides are used; so rest assured that picking and eating the berries off the bush as a safe as can be! Blueberry Types Grown at Bybee Farms

Stanley

Stanley is a highbush blueberry which grows to nearly 7 feet in height.  Bybee planted this variety in 1946. The Stanley is known to have a medium loose fruit cluster, the berry is a medium size berry and small later in the picking season. They are a medium blue, firm and aromatic berry that is resistant to cracking. A very flavorful berry.

Pemberton

Pemberton is also a highbush blueberry.  The upright bush delivers high yields that are not all that easy to pick.  Bybee planted this variety in 1946. The Pemberton is known for its very productive, very loose fruit cluster. The berries are large, dark blue, firm and slightly aromatic. They have a good dessert quality and ripen slightly earlier than the Jersey variety.

Dixi

Dixi is also a Northern highbush blueberry.  The Dixi blueberry bush spreads but is open, and delivers high yields in late harvest. Bybee planted this variety in 1946. The Dixi is known for its productive, tight fruit cluster with very large berries. This medium blue, firm and aromatic berry is loved for its high desert quality. It ripens slightly after the Jersey variety.

Blue Ray

Blue Ray is a bush variety blueberry that ripens early with large berries.  Bybee planted this variety in 1983. The Blue Ray is known for its productive, rather small and tight fruit clusters. The berries are very large, light blue, firm and aromatic. They have a high desert quality, resistant to cracking and ripen early midseason. Liked for its very large high-flavored berries.

Jersey

The Jersey blueberry is a late season variety and is one of the oldest and most widely grown. Bybee planted this variety in 1946. The Jersey is known for its productive and loose fruit cluster. The berries range from medium to large that are firm with a medium blue color. They are resistant to cracking and ripen later in the season.

Blue Crop

Blue Crop is a high bush blueberry growing to 4 to 6 feet high.  Bybee planted this variety was planted in 1983. The Blue Crop is known for its very productive, loose fruit cluster. The berries are large, very light blue, firm and slightly aromatic. They have a good dessert quality, resistant to cracking and ripen early midseason.

Visiting the company site proves to be useful for ensuring a perfect day out. The blog posts important updates such as bee populations among the fields, blueberry population status, and dates when the season is ripe.  No dogs are allowed in the fields.  Payment is via cash or check only.

Events

If anyone questions the location’s beauty, count the number of weddings held at Bybee Farms.  So many young brides and grooms come here to celebrate their special occasion. Bybee Farms offer a venue with a generous amount of assets beyond the actual property. This includes two tents that cover approx 3300 sq ft area, with gravel pathways that wrap around an ever changing landscape, water feature, seating areas and plenty of parking for your guests.  Bybee farms provides tables and chairs (up to 200), bathrooms, dance floor, lighting, and an air conditioned dressing area.
