Overview
Have lovers of the classic storybook character, Thomas the Tank Engine? Have aspiring engineers or just aspiring train riders? A Day Out with Thomas is a perfect way to spend the day where people of all ages get to enjoy riding and participating in all the Thomas & Friends activities!
Meet Sir Topham Hatt, the Controller of the Railway, and enjoy crafts, story telling, videos, train play tables, coloring, temporary tattoos, railway motor car rides, live music, and much more!
Snoqualmie is one of 37 stops during a national tour which features a life size Thomas the Tank Engine. It is the only stop in the State of Washington. The Northwest Railway Museum serves about 15,000 children and their families each year. The tour has stopped in Snoqualmie since 2002 and is the museum’s largest annual event.
The Event

The event is designed for children age 2-5 years. It’s rare to find a live event designed for this age group. Ride with Thomas the Tank Engine for 25 minutes and hear Thomas greet his fans! Attending children will also have the chance to talk with a railway engineer and learn how trains work. A unique Snoqualmie feature is a “Kalamazoo” motor car pulling a trailer that children and families ride on. This was how loggers traveled to and from their logging sites on railroads. There is storytelling, video viewing, live music, and other children’s activities.
Day out with Thomas Tickets and More
Tickets for Day Out With Thomas run from $21 to $28 for ages two and up. Tickets may be purchased on the web at Northwest Railway Train Museum. This year walkup sales are not available – you must purchase online in advance.
Since Thomas is a busy engine, he unfortunately isn’t around year long. The event is Friday, July 9 to Sunday, July 11 and Friday, July 16 to Sunday, July 18, 2021.
Thomas is working hard and departs every 45 minutes, rain or shine. The day begins at 9 am and runs to 3:45 pm each day of the event. To keep a tidy schedule, we encourage guests to arrive one hour before their ticket time.
