Wine Train

Wine Train

Overview

This unique experience is available to all those that love both delicious local wine and the relaxing train ride with beautiful sights along the way.  This is an event that the Northwest Railway Museum holds where you can sip wine while traveling by train and partaking in local food and music.

This train ride is adults only (21 and older) and an utterly unique way to enjoy the Snoqualmie Valley! Along with each ticket, visitors will get a souvenir wine glass to remember the wineries, food, music, and views!  It runs periodically during the year on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

What to Expect on the Wine Train

The journey usually begins at 2:30 at the Historic Snoqualmie Depot. Before getting on the train, visitors will already get an array of samples of local wines and learn about the foundation of Seattle, Lake Shore, and Eastern Railway Company in the Snoqualmie Valley. It won’t be a long history lesson as the train is set out to depart at 3.
The passengers will then have the opportunity to gaze at the beauty that is Mount Si from the historical Bridge 35 from a historical train. Tasting stops are frequent enough as the train visits the Train Shed Exhibit Building and the Puget Sound Energy’s Hydroelectric Museum. Valley Musicians are also providing some entertainment whilst the tasting continues with live music, local food from the valley’s producers and businesses, and of course, wine from the partner wineries. The excursions continues to all the way to Snoqualmie Falls where natural beauty awaits the riders.

The Train returns to the Snoqualmie Depot at 5:30. If there’s a wine that visitors found absolutely delicious and irresistible, then have no fear as all wines are available to purchase at the Snoqualmie Depot Book Store after the event. To continue the fun, even as the event is over, there is also a heaping amount of Historic Downtown’s restaurants and business establishments that offer discounts to the Train participants!
